Email marketing has been the most important revenue driver across my marketing leadership roles. I have developed and executed email strategies supporting product launches, conferences, memberships, and digital education programs, integrating email with content marketing, social media, partnerships, and event promotion. I have also created email swipe campaigns for affiliates to use when promoting on our behalf.
At Social Media Examiner, I introduced advanced email strategies including segmentation, split testing, and automated sequences that ultimately contributed to email generating 67% of overall company sales. My work included messaging and positioning strategy, launch sequences, newsletters, and post-event analysis, using campaign data to drive email optimization and decision-making.
The images on this page provide a glimpse of the 24-week email marketing campaign promoting the Social Media Marketing World conference in 2020. We were extremely lucky to have scheduled the conference for March 1-3, 2020–one week before the pandemic shut everything down. Ours was the last event held at the San Diego Convention Center in 2020.
